Cloud Donor Manager

Our Story

Built on a Simple Conviction: Generosity Shouldn’t Pay a Toll

Cloud Donor Manager was created around a straightforward belief: nonprofits should not have to surrender part of their mission just to access the tools that help fund it.

The Problem We Refused to Accept

Somewhere along the way, the nonprofit world accepted a strange bargain: to raise money for a mission, you first pay a software company.
A subscription to collect donations. A per-contact charge to remember your own donors. A percentage clipped from every gift on its way to the cause. The organizations with the least to spare ended up paying the most — in fees, in workarounds, and in tools they could not afford to use properly.

A Career Built Around Honest Technology

Cloud Donor Manager was founded by Lou Honick, founder and CEO of Host Merchant Services. Lou’s career has followed one consistent principle: technology businesses win by treating customers honestly. “We believe that that organizations working…The organizations doing the most good shouldn’t pay the most to do it.”
He first proved it with HostMySite, the web hosting company he founded and grew into a national name on the strength of its customer service — then again with Host Merchant Services, a payments company built around transparent pricing in an industry notorious for the opposite.
Years of working alongside community organizations and nonprofit merchants kept surfacing the same frustration: fundraising software was pricing out the very organizations it claimed to serve.
Lou’s answer was not a cheaper tier or a nonprofit discount. It was to remove the price entirely — and design a platform whose economics never required one.
About Us | Cloud Donor Manager

Free Is the Point, Not the Promotion

Free software usually means the free part is temporary, partial, or paid for in ways you discover later. Cloud Donor Manager is structurally different: it is built and sustained by Host Merchant Services, whose payment processing business supports the platform.
That foundation means there is no investor clock demanding that nonprofits be monetized, no growth target that requires a paywall, and no future in which the model suddenly flips.
Donors complete the picture. When supporters choose to cover the small processing cost of their own gift, organizations receive every dollar intended for them. Generosity funds the system that carries it.

About Us | Cloud Donor Manager
01

Every dollar belongs to the mission.

Software should never take a cut of generosity or make impact more expensive to deliver.

02

Capability should not depend on budget.

A small community group deserves the same fundraising tools as a national foundation.

03

Transparency compounds trust.

It matters in donor relationships, nonprofit partnerships, pricing, and in how our own model works.

04

Software should disappear into the work.

Fundraising teams should spend their time with supporters, not fighting settings or managing workarounds.

Built by Specialists. Supported by Real People.

Cloud Donor Manager is built by a team that blends nonprofit consultants, payment specialists, and technology leaders with deep experience in donation systems and fundraising strategy.
